House considered ‘total loss’ after semi crash in Miami County; 2 hospitalized

A house is considered a “total loss” and two people are hospitalized in Miami County after a semi crashed into it Thursday night. A semi-truck and car were involved in a crash at the intersection of State Route 571 and State Route 201 around 6:30 p.m. The semi continued and crash into it, fire officials told News Center 7's Brandon Lewis. The house is considered a total loss, according to Joshua Schiebrel, Bethel Township Fire Chief. “Once the trailer gets pulled out, the rest of the house is going to collapse,” he said. A woman was in the residence at the time of the crash and was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Medics also transported the semi driver with minor injuries. Dave Fisher, the owner of the house, spoke with News Center 7 Thursday night and said his wife was in the house at the time of the crash.
