VIDEO/PHOTOS: A firefighter is recovering after being injured while battling a two-alarm fire that ripped through a vacant industrial building in Akron on Thursday afternoon. According to the Akron Fire Department, firefighters responded to the fire at 96 East Crosier St. just after 2:30 p.m. and found "a large vacant industrial building with heavy smoke showing from the front and sides of the structure." The fire department said the building had been predetermined to be unsafe to enter, meaning all firefighting operations had to be conducted from outside the building. A second alarm was declared and multiple fire companies responded to help extinguish the fire. One firefighter was hurt with a non-life-threatening injury.
