Canton firefighters arrived just before 3 a.m. to the home in the 1000 block of Sherlock Place Northeast to find gouts of flame shooting from the attic windows and roof of the two-and-a-half-story home. Crews quickly brought the fire under control, but not before the house sustained heavy damage, according to the release. Damages were estimated at $25,600 to the home’s structure and $2,000 to its contents. The home was under renovation and was unoccupied at the time. No one was injured.
