VIDEO: A train derailment was reported in downtown Wyoming and Lockland, between Wyoming Avenue and Cooper Avenue. Hazmat crews told residents that they could return home and that no hazardous materials leaked from any derailed cars. Residents were originally told to 'shelter in place' because they were unsure of what might have leaked, but families are now able to freely leave their shelters. The only substance know to have leaked from the train at this time is a non hazardous and non flammable white plastic pellet called 'Hop Flake' powder. Hamilton Country EMA posted on X the location of the derailment. Units were on the scene and crews started an evacuation of one block to the north and two blocks to the south of Wyoming Avenue. The Lockland and Wyoming Fire Departments evacuated 500 feet from the tracks.
