Five Dayton firefighters rise in ranks at promotional ceremony

VIDEO: Five Dayton firefighters are rising through the ranks as a promotional ceremony was held Monday for the firefighters. Captain David Thomas was promoted to district chief. Thomas began his career with the Dayton Fire Department in 2002. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2014 and promoted to captain in 2018. Thomas has served in several assignments throughout his career, including Fire Stations 16, 13, and 11, as well as serving as the Incident Support Unit (EMS Supervisor). Thomas received the department’s distinguished service award in 2011, and has received multiple commendations throughout his career. Lieutenants Mark Laugle and William Gaub were promoted to captain. Laugle began his career with the Dayton Fire Department in 2002. Firefighters Ryan Corregan and Joseph Desch were promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
