VIDEO: A firefighter and a civilian were rushed to the hospital as flames roared through an apartment building overnight, displacing at least 24 residents, according to West Chester’s fire chief. The firefighter is being treated for a heat-related condition and the other person suffered smoke inhalation, Chief Rick Prinz said. Several fire departments and about 100 firefighters from around the region responded to what escalated into a three-alarm fire at Union Station Apartments on Meeting Street near Cincinnati-Dayton Road and Interstate 75. Flames were reported at 12:14 a.m. Thursday in one of the apartment buildings and spread to all three floors, according to the fire chief. Crews immediately began fighting the fire and searching for anyone who might be trapped inside.
