Thieves were caught on camera taking off with a utility trailer from an Aurora Fire District station. This latest crime is just a couple months after a Klickitat Fire District station was burglarized. Both stations are small and work on a mostly voluntary basis. There are concerns fire departments in rural communities are potential targets for crime. Aurora Fire District is made up of mostly volunteers and students; they don't get paid to do their jobs, and they also aren't expected to hunt down criminals. Early Sunday morning, the crew found a cut lock on the back parking lot. Lt. Bill Hansen says the lock was on a utility trailer. "They knew what they were doing. It took them just a few minutes to take off with our trailer," said Hansen.
