A week after a butane hash oil lab blast caused a wildfire in Jackson County, a similar event set a barn on fire in Corbett, officials said Wednesday. According to a release, Corbett Fire District responded to a barn fire on Friday, Aug. 9 on East Larch Mountain Road. When they arrived, they found the building “heavily involved in fire,” officials said. Bystanders told officials that a large explosion had occurred, the release said. Firefighters witnessed a second large explosion soon after arriving. No injuries were reported. According to the release, Corbett and Gresham firefighters were able to contain the blaze within an hour. Investigators said they discovered an illegal butane hash/honey oil processing plant at the origin of the fire.
