More than 300 Oregon firefighters and volunteers from over a hundred fire agencies gathered in Salem this weekend. They attended the 16th annual Winter Fire School at the Public Safety Academy. During the two-day fire training, everyone is able to attend 11 classes that are offered. Classes on hose and ladder instruction, vehicle extrication and other hands-on classes that will get them prepared for fire season. Eriks Gabliks, Director of the Department of Public Safety Standards says this two-day fire training experience is the largest in the Pacific Northwest and is offered free of charge.
