An elderly woman died in a house fire in Boring Friday morning and man was seriously injured, Sandy Fire District said.
Crews responded to the fire in the 37100 block of Southeast Lusted Road at around 3:30 a.m.
When crews arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and a man with critical burns was lying in the front yard.
Sandy Fire District confirmed the elderly woman died inside her home. The injured man, who they believe is the woman's son, was taken to the Legacy Oregon Burn Center. Officials believe he was injured while trying to save the woman.
Crews had to bring in water tanks from across the area since there was no access to a fire hydrant on the rural Boring road.
