Fireworks and a brush fire lit up Reservoir Hill for the Fourth of July. Fireworks got going around 10 p.m. The fire broke out about 5 minutes later. Firefighters said they had a water tender on scene and brought the blaze under control in about 20 minutes. They suspect the ignition came from mortars. The area had been burned in prescribed burning earlier this year, firefighters said. An area unburned in those prescribed burns caught fire. The Roseburg Hometown Fourth of July Committee had the go-ahead to host the display. The property is owned by the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe Indians, who were among the sponsors of the event.
