VIDEO: A large metal shed was destroyed in a fire in Eugene early Thursday morning. According to firefighters, a caller reported the building -- located behind a 76 gas station at 1499 Highway 99 -- was on fire shortly after 4 a.m. Firefighters from Eugene-Springfield Fire responded and quickly brought the flames under control. Fire officials said no one was inside the building when they arrived, and there were no reports of injuries. The owner of the building said it was being used as storage and contained files and other items. He also noted the door to the building was found in the unlocked position. The owner said he has noticed homeless camps in the area before but has never experienced break-ins or issues with the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
