Police have arrested a woman for setting a homeless camp in Old Town on fire Saturday, April 17. No injuries were reported. Alisha M. Ikola, 20, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on a charge of arson in the second degree. According to the Portland Police Bureau, at 11 a.m. April 17, Central Precinct officers were called to a report of a fire in a camp at Northwest Fourth Avenue and Davis Street. When officers arrived, they found the fire had fully engulfed the tent and was starting to spread to the adjacent building. Portland Fire & Rescue responded and extinguished the flames, but the tent and its contents were destroyed. The tent was unoccupied at the time. Investigating officers learned the suspect was still nearby and detained her. Fire investigators responded to assume the investigation.
