Police are investigating after multiple suspicious dumpster fires Sunday night. Just before 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of West 11th Avenue and Seneca Road after the fires were reported at two different Lane Transit District bus stops. While officers were in the area, they saw smoke and fire coming from the area of the Dollar Tree, 3630 West 11th Ave. Eugene Springfield Fire arrived to the scene and put the fire out. Fire officials confirmed the fire started in the area of a dumpster next to the store and spread to surrounding trees. A different fire was discovered earlier that night at West 11th Avenue and Bailey Hill Road, fire officials said. As officers searched for a suspect, a similar incident happened near West 6th Avenue and Monroe Street, but it’s not known if the incidents were connected.
