A Eugene man accused of setting a home on fire in Lyons has been arrested.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday morning a caller reported that David Allen Crouch, 42, was trespassing on the property of a family member he had been threatening.
As deputies headed to the Fox Valley Road area, the caller said Crouch had left and they were following him. After losing sight of the man, the caller returned to the property and found the home on fire.
Once on scene, deputies found the home fully on fire, and fire personnel from 14 surrounding agencies responded to help put it out. The fire quickly spread to the field of a neighboring property but did not damage any additional structures.
One person from the neighboring property was taken to Santiam Hospital in Stayton after suffering a medical event and was treated and released.
The home, which had been the Fox Valley School, was destroyed.
