One person was airlifted to a Portland-area hospital after being severely injured in a Medford house fire on Wednesday morning. Firefighters from the Medford Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire in the 1700-block of Dakota Avenue before 5:45 a.m. The agency asked the public to avoid the area between Jeanette Avenue and Chestnut Street during the emergency response. One man and one woman were taken to the hospital after being injured in the fire. One of the two victims was later airlifted by Mercy Flights from Asante Rogue Regional to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland. NewsWatch 12 was able to confirm that the victim being treated in Portland is 34-year-old Andrew Robbins of Medford. He was last listed in critical condition.
