VIDEO: Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue invited a FOX 12 crew to spend an overnight shift with firefighters at a Beaverton firehouse.
TVF&R has 29 fire stations across four counties, Clackamas, Multnomah, Washington and Yamhill, and serves more than 551,423 residents.
The FOX 12 crew arrived at Firehouse 67 at about 2 p.m., and within minutes, they were riding along on what would be the first of nearly a dozen emergency calls that night. Medical calls make up a majority of their emergencies, and this first call was a lift assist.
Blake Ferguson is a driver with TVF&R.
“It’s really, I think, more about just what this culture offers and the friendships and the relationships we build and just wanting to help people, even if it’s a medical call versus a fire,” Ferguson said.
