Occupants in both residences of a Lebanon duplex have been displaced by a house fire that broke out on Wednesday evening and is currently under investigation, according to the Lebanon Fire District. District officials said that firefighters responded early on the evening of March 28 in the 3600 block of Highway 20. The first arriving fire crews arrived to find smoke coming from the attic of the building and firefighters created a ventilation hole in the roof, fire officials said. Lebanon fire authorities said that the Oregon Department of Transportation and Lebanon Police Department responded to the scene to help with traffic control as heavy smoke created visibility hazards across all four lanes of Highway 20 for passing motorists and additional responding firefighters.
