Community says goodbye to former Hanover Township firefighter

Local firefighters are paying their respects to a former chief who passed away. They formed a procession from a Bethlehem funeral home to Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery to say goodbye to Robert Van Why Jr. on Monday. Van Why was a member of the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company for nearly 50 years. He served as Fire Marshal for 35 years and served seven years as fire chief. He was also the Vice President of Lehigh and Northampton County Fire Investigation Training Association. Van Why Jr. was 74-years-old.
