Two children died early Tuesday in a house fire in South Union Township, Fayette County, according to Coroner Phillip Reilly.
The children, who have not been publicly identified, are both of elementary-school age, Reilly said.
The fire was reported at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to Fayette County 911. A house on South Mt. Vernon Avenue was fully involved, dispatchers said.
South Union Volunteer Fire Company, numerous other departments, fire marshals and the coroner’s office were still on the scene as of 7 a.m.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
