Fire crews called to a house fire on Kline Avenue Wednesday morning found the body of a deceased male inside, police said.
Police have not yet identified the man, believed to be age 60, and North Coventry Police Chief Robert Schurr said it is not clear yet whether the fire was the cause of the man's death.
The chief said an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning.
Schurr said the first call bringing crews to the home, located at 479 Kline Ave., about four blocks from the Norco firehouse, came at 9:15 a.m.
When crews arrived, the house "was fully engulfed in smoke and flames," Schurr said.
"Once fire crews were able to make entry into the residence a male victim was found deceased inside the residence," according to Schurr. It took less than an hour to bring the blaze under control, he said.
