Following an alleged incident on New Year's Eve, the Lehigh County Communications Center has relieved 10 workers of their duties, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Of the 10 workers, three are supervisors (two city and one county with 35 years of experience) and seven are 911 dispatchers. The incident is said to have occurred at midnight on December 31. According to the source, a supervisor on duty that night brought in an alcoholic mixed drink containing egg nog in which all 10 workers consumed in a "midnight toast." The source says the amount that each person drank equated to "half a shot." Then, each worker went back to work. The source says, shortly thereafter, an anonymous complaint was filed.
