Pittsburgh police detectives and fire investigators are looking into what sparked a two-alarm fire late Monday morning on the North Side. The fire broke out around 11:30 a.m. along Alpine Avenue.
Firefighters rushed to the scene to find flames and heavy smoke billowing out of a third-floor window at the three-story rowhouse.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, it took firefighters about 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
However, Pittsburgh Public Safety says one home is destroyed, with significant damage on the second and third floors. A large portion of the area around Alpine Avenue closed down to traffic while crews put out the blaze and fire investigators looked into what caused it.
