Firefighters battled smoke and flames at a Wendy's restaurant in Harmar Township early Tuesday evening.
"It's heavily damaged. I don't know what the extent is, I haven't been inside myself yet, but there's at least three holes in the roof from ventilation," said 1st Lt. Levi Baer, of the Allegheny Valley Volunteer Fire Company.
There was heavy fire and smoke in the back of the restaurant near the drive-thru area when fire crews arrived at the scene on Freeport Road, Baer said.
"The employees were all evacuated by the time that I got here. I had the units pick up the hydrants at the Target across the street, start working on putting the fire out in the main part of the lobby," he said.
No injuries were reported, according to Allegheny County emergency dispatchers.
The county fire marshal will investigate to determine the cause of the fire.
