An early-morning house fire turned fatal.
At least one person died after flames broke out at a home on Magnolia Lane in Alsace Township, off of Antietam Road, said Trooper David Beohm, spokesperson for Pennsylvania State Police's Troop L.
The fire was called in around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday. About a dozen local fire crews responded and reported heavy fire in the home.
A female was found deceased inside when firefighters arrived. Officials have not released her identity.
A 50-year-old man was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. His name and condition are unknown,
Smoke was still coming from the one-story ranch-style home about two hours later, and the building appeared heavily damaged.
The fire is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Troop L fire marshal.
