A first responder was seriously hurt in a Tuesday fire that also destroyed their Perry County home, authorities said. The fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. and quickly went to a second-alarm on the 100 block of Pine Hill Road in Spring Township, according to dispatch logs and the Landisburg Volunteer Fire Department. The home was engulfed in flames and ultimately destroyed, according to fire officials. Fire officials said one of the home’s residents was airlifted to Lehigh Valley Hospital for burns and smoke inhalation. The resident is a first responder with Landisburg EMS. Their condition as of Wednesday is unknown. “While we respond to every call as if we’re responding to family, this time we truly were,” Landisburg EMS wrote on Facebook Tuesday evening.
