A fire damaged a home in the Tuscan Hills housing plan in North Huntingdon just after 7 p.m. Monday night.
Fairmont-Hahntown Fire Chief Cecil “Skip” Cook said his department and seven other companies fought the flames for about 20 minutes before they were able to put out the blaze.
“Upon arrival, we found that flames were already shooting through the roof and out one side of the building,” Cook said.
The residents of the home were able to get out of the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the point of origin has been narrowed down to the back porch of the house, Cook said.
“With the help of all of our mutual aid companies, we actually had a pretty quick knock down,” Cook said.
