A vacant double-block home was damaged by flames in Luzerne County early Wednesday morning.
According to the Nanticoke City Fire Department, crews were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of West Noble Street in Nanticoke around 1:11 AM for a reported house fire. They say the entire block was filled with smoke upon arrival.
After determining which house was ablaze, crews had the fire under control in about 20 minutes, containing most damage to a room on one side of the double-block home.
Officials say that because the home was vacant with no power or gas, a State Police fire marshal has ruled the fire as "suspicious."
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Anyone who may have any information is asked to contact Nanticoke Police at 570-735-2200.
