VIDEO: Fire tore through a Lancaster County business Thursday morning. The fire started around 10:20 a.m. at Biers Pallet company on the 300 block of South Main Street in Penn Township, just outside of Manheim. A neighbor told WGAL reporter Anne Shannon that she woke up to the sound of sirens, saw smoke, ran next door and saw the business owner being pulled out of the building. The neighbor said she pulled off the owner’s jacket and it was melted to his arms. She thought he was suffering from pretty significant burns to his arms, face and neck. The owner was taken to the hospital. Another neighbor told WGAL she had spoken to the owner’s wife, who just wanted everyone to get out safely and expressed that the building could be replaced.
