A fire house in Pottstown had a fire of its own Thursday night.
The cabin of an engine was on fire inside the Good Will Fire Co. Station 69A in the 700 block of East High Street, the Pottstown Fire Department said in a statement on social media.
Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and contain it to the apparatus only, the department said, but two ambulances, a fire rehab unit and the Pottstown Fire Police response unit, as well as bays, had smoke damage. The department said one firefighter was taken by Good Will EMS to Pottstown Tower Health Hospital for evaluation from smoke inhalation. Ambulance service and the ability to respond to 911 calls for assistance remain intact, officials said.
