A fire in York County that forced nine people out of their homes was caused by the lithium-ion battery in a scooter, according to the fire chief. Fire crews responded to a two-story semi-detached home in the first block of Mount Royal Avenue in Penn Township at 11:40 a.m. Hanover Area Fire & Rescue Chief Anthony Clousher said a fire was found in the basement, isolated to an area along a wall. The fire was brought under control in 20 minutes. No one was hurt, according to Clousher. The Red Cross is helping the affected residents.
