VIDEOS: Officials believe at least six people -- including children -- have died following a house fire and shooting that wounded two police officers in East Lansdowne, Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer told NBC10.
"This is going to take awhile. Okay? We're going to be very safe," Stollsteimer said Thursday morning. "This is a recovery operation. There's nobody alive inside that burned out hulk of a house."
Investigators planned to enter the home on Lewis Avenue Thursday though there are concerns the house will collapse after drones spotted hot spots, according to Stollsteimer.
"There's like six feet of water in the basement," Stollsteimer said. "The walls could collapse at anytime and there are still hotspots burning."
Officials have not released the identities of any of the residents inside the home.
