The attorney for a former East Greenwich firefighter, who's facing two felony counts, enters a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Robert Warner, 42, is accused of deleting town fire alarm records vital to repairing fire alarms in East Greenwich schools, elderly housing facilities, and other public buildings.
Warner is accused of deleting the records on the day in June he resigned from his fire department position that put him in charge of maintaining the data.
According to the town's fire chief, Warner has not cooperated when asked to restore the data several times.
Town Council members fired Warner in July on a number of counts, including insubordination and failure to follow orders to help restore deleted files.
"It is a huge public safety risk when you don't understand where the circuits are, how they work. Associated with daycare centers, and senior centers, and senior housing," said town council's Suzanne Cienki
