VIDEO: One Central Falls resident was rushed to the hospital with burns after jumping out the second-floor window of his home to escape a fire Friday afternoon, according to Chief Robert Bradley.
Bradley said flames were shooting out of a Jenks Avenue home when crews arrived on scene. He said it took firefighters nearly two hours to get the flames under control.
“The fire had a really good head start, the second floor had some comprised spots, the third floor, which is a cross base, made it very difficult for crews to find because the stairway was hidden in a closet, and the access way was screwed shut. There was no way for us to get to it, and at that point, we had to evacuate all the firefighters,” Bradley recalled.
Video sent to Eyewitness News showed firefighters battling the flames as smoke poured from the house.
