PHOTOS: Charlestown police on Monday said a woman was sent to the hospital with serious injuries after two pickup trucks crashed. Police said the crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Old Post Road and Narrow Lane. Responding officers found a white pickup truck on fire. Investigators said a bystander was able to pull the woman, who's 25 years old, out of her truck before it became fully engulfed. "It was on fire. Along with trying to put the fire out and mitigate that, they're trying to make sure everybody was out of the vehicle. We're fortunate enough that operator was pulled from the vehicle prior to our arrival," said Lt. Philip Gingerella. Gingerella said the woman did not suffer any burns, but was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Her name was not immediately released. Police said the other driver, a 55-year-old man, was not injured and stayed at the scene.
