The West Warwick Fire Department is informing the community that the station on 834 Main Street has been closed until further notice. The department says the apparatus located at the station have been relocated to other fire stations, and Engine 2 has been relocated to department headquarters. Additionally, Rescue 2 has been relocated to fire station 3 on Providence Street located in the Natick section of town. The department cites a break in a sewer pipe on Main street as the cause of the closure. Steps to mitigate the problem are underway, but a timetable as to when repairs are complete is unknown at this time.
