A fire at a law office in North Providence is being investigated as arson, the fire department said. Eviction Attorney Steven Conti said his office was set on fire at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Conti Law Office is located on Smith Street. No injuries were reported. Conti said the fire started in the vestibule in his office and spread to the ceiling. Firefighters said they were able to contain the fire to one area and saved the integrity of the structure. According to Conti, he will be out of the office for the next two to three months. He told NBC 10 News that if it wasn't for his neighbors and restaurant patrons witnessing the fire and calling it in so fast, everything would have been destroyed. A sign saying "Free Housing for All" was spotted in the bushes nearby. Another sign offering a $5,000 reward for information about the fire was hung on the door by the fire department.
