Health officials in Rhode Island reported on Tuesday two additional COVID-19 deaths and 991 new cases since the last report.
Of the 991 new cases, 955 were reported on Friday (327), Saturday (216), Sunday (198), and Monday (214).
The other 36 were added to previous dates.
The total number of known cases since the start of the pandemic is 175,487 according to the Rhode Island Department of Health.
The death toll rose by 2, to 2,856.
Two deaths were recorded on Saturday, according to state data.
The health department says there are currently 94 people hospitalized because of the virus.
Of those hospitalized, 11 are in the ICU and 7 are using ventilators.
On Monday the state administered 6,852 tests with a positivity rate of 3.1%.
