The Providence Fire Department responded to an apartment fire early Tuesday morning. Crews responded after 4:00 a.m. to an apartment building on Shiloh Street. Investigators believe the fire started in the attic of a vacant apartment. As a result of the fire, two people were displaced in the adjacent apartment. The Red Cross is assisting those people. Deputy Assistant Chief Steve Capacotta says responding crews saw flames on the roof. He says the apartment was vacant and most efforts went to evacuating residents. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
