A large flood in Pawtucket has closed multiple roads early Thursday morning. Crews responded to a water main break in the area of Walcott and Summit streets around 3 a.m. Workers with the Pawtucket Water Supply Board told 12 News it’s a 24-inch main that broke, presumably in the area where a fire truck got stuck. The truck is partially submerged and appears to be sinking into the street. A car is also stuck next to the fire truck as it attempted to drive through the flooded waters. The water was also overflowing onto I-95 north which temporarily closed down all travel lanes after Exit 28, according to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. All lanes have since been reopened. It’s already causing heavy delays as traffic is starting to back up.
