A fire broke out at a home on Fruit Hill Avenue in North Providence Saturday night. A kitchen fire was reported around 9:00 p.m., and upon arrival, crews observed fire coming out of the second floor windows, according to Fire Chief John Silva. Crews worked quickly and were able to get the fire under control in about 20 minutes. There were around 50 firefighters on the scene with both Providence and Johnston crews assisting the North Providence Fire Department. Chief Silva says that the house is not livable at the moment, and Red Cross is reaching out to the occupants of the multi-family home. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries have been reported.
