First responders tended to a house fire in East Providence on Wednesday afternoon. East Providence Battalion Chief Scott Weber said the fire started on the second floor of the home on Warren Avenue around 4 p.m. Weber said crews were in the area when the call came in and were able to put the fire out quickly. There were no injuries reported as the house was vacant due to construction. One worker was inside at the time the fire started and escaped unharmed. Weber added that the incident is under investigation.
