VIDEO: Nineteen people were forced from their homes Sunday afternoon after a fire broke out at two Providence homes. Battalion Chief Gregory McGee said crews responding to Indiana Avenue around 3:45 p.m. found a boat on fire between two homes that spread to the buildings. One person was transported to the hospital but their condition is unknown at this time, McGee said. Part of Indiana Avenue where it meets Narragansett Boulevard was blocked off as crews worked to extinguish the fire. The Red Cross is now helping nine families, which includes 14 adults and five children. It’s unclear what started the fire at this time.
