The Cranston Police Department said that a crash that occurred on Reservoir Avenue hit a home’s gas meter and caused a leak.
Major Todd Patalano said that two elderly women lost control of their vehicle, struck a sign post, and spun around to hit the home.
This caused the gas meter to dislodge from the house, which necessitated a response from Rhode Island Energy.
Both women were transported to Rhode Island Hospital for injuries, and the gas meter is being replaced. Gas to the home will be turned on again once the repair is completed.
