An investigation continues in Johnston after police received a hoax call Sunday afternoon. Police were called to a home on Patricia Drive just before 3 p.m. after a young man claimed he shot his mother and was going to shoot his 13-year-old brother next. Officers arrived and didn’t find any victims or signs of violence, according to Johnston Police Chief Mark Vieira. Video captured by 12 News showed police, a fire engine and ambulance vehicles on the scene and then eventually leaving at around 3:30 p.m. Vieira said police previously responded to hoax calls tied to this home, with no suspects being found. Police are now working to identify the caller.
