A garage fire was quickly knocked down in Smithfield early Tuesday morning. Crews responded to the scene on Capron Road around 3 a.m. The homeowner told 12 News he was doing work in the garage when the heat source he was using caught fire. The garage suffered damage but the flames didn’t spread to the house. No injuries were reported.
