Wake held for longtime Cumberland firefighter that died of occupational cancer

A wake was held for longtime Cumberland firefighter Gregory Jones on Monday. Jones, 63, died a week ago Monday of occupational cancer, according to Cumberland officials. Authorities said Jones worked with the Cumberland Hill Fire District and the Cumberland Fire Department for 21 years. Cumberland officials said Jones retired in 2022 due to an illness. According to officials, Jones was also a great supporter of Rhode Island Special Olympics and volunteered at national events. The wake was held at Duffy Funeral Home on Monday.
