Man charged with arson after fires at Ripley home, police say

A Lauderdale County, Tenn. man has been arrested and charged in connection with fires set at homes in Ripley over the weekend, according to a press release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Saturday the Ripley Fire Department responded to a fire at a home in the 5100 block of Conner Whitefield Road in Lauderdale County. Firefighters extinguished the flames, containing the fire to one room, according to the press release. The next day, firefighters and the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office were called to the same address due to a second fire. During the course of an investigation, agents developed information leading them to suspect Donald Bizzell, 57. Bizzell was arrested and charged yesterday with Arson and Unlawful Carrying/Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.
