A quick response by the Dunlap Fire Department prevented a worse situation Friday night. Police say just after 10:30 AM, Dunlap Fire arrived to a residential structure fire at the apartments on Cedar Street. Officials say a resident was using the stove top to cook, when the fire ignited, causing damage to the stove, and the area surrounding it. Quick response by fire crews contained the fire to the kitchen, and prevented the spread to adjacent apartments. Personnel with Dunlap Police Dept, Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department, and Puckett EMS TN / N.GA were on scene to assist. No injuries were reported as members returned to service.
