VIDEO: Nashville firefighters spent over an hour putting out an apartment complex fire in South Nashville Monday. Officials said the fire destroyed at least two units and damaged nearly 10.
Neighbors said the fire started in a matter of seconds, one moment they were sleeping and the next running for their lives. Erica Cherry said the flames took everything from her.
“I’ve never screamed so much in my life,” Cherry said. And her screams started with the sound of windows breaking.
“I thought oh my gosh somebody’s window broke, and we stepped outside me, and my husband and I was like there’s smoke everywhere what’s going on,” Cherry said.
That’s when neighbors like Robbin Webster stepped in.
“I looked and saw people standing around, so I pulled the fire alarm,” Webster said.
